The Moon

The Moon passes about 7½º north of Mercury in the evening of 1st, about 1½º north of Venus in the evening of 3rd, about 2½º south of Mars around local midnight of 6th, 3½º south of Saturn in the early hours of 7th, about 2½º south of Jupiter on 17th, about 1º north of Neptune in the evening of 20th and again about 4º north of Uranus in the early hours of 23rd.
The Earth
The Earth approaches Aphelion position in its orbit or reaches farthest from the Sun on 4th.
The Planets
The Visibility of Planets :
Mercury: The planet can be seen low in the eastern sky before sunrise and remains visible till the beginning of morning twilight. The planet rises about 1 hour before sunrise upto second quarter of the month and about 1 hour to ½ hour before it upto third quarter of the month. Thereafter it is too near the sun to be visible and remains so for the remaining days of the month, being in Superior Conjunction on 30th. It is in Greatest Western Elongation of about 22º on 1st. The planet is in Perihelion or nearest to the Sun on 21st.
Venus: It is a brilliant object which can be seen low in the western sky after sunset from 3rd day of the month. The planet sets about ½ hour to 1 hour after sunset throughout the month. The planet is in Perihelion position or nearest to the Sun in its orbit on 12th.
Mars: The planet can be seen in the evening in the western sky after sunset. The planet sets about 2½ hours to 3½ hours before local midnight throughout the month.
Jupiter: The planet can be seen in the evening in the eastern sky after sunset and remains visible till the beginning of morning twilight. It rises about ½ hour after sunset in the first quarter of the month. Thereafter it rises around sunset time to 1½ hours before sunset for the remaining days of the month. The planet is in Opposition with the Sun on 9th.
Saturn: The planet can be seen in the evening throughout the month. It sets between 3½ hours to 2½ hours after sunset upto second quarter of the month. Thereafter it sets about 2½ hours to 1½ hours after it for the remaining days of the month.
Uranus: The planet rises about 1 hour to 3 hours before local midnight throughout the month and remains visible till the beginning of the morning twilight.
Neptune: The planet rises after sunset and is visible till the beginning of morning twilight. It rises about 3 hours to 2½ hours after sunset during first quarter of the month. Thereafter it rises about 2½ hours to 1 hour after it for the remaining days of the month.
Conjunction of Planets :
Mars passes about 1º north of Regulus (Magha) on 1st.
Venus passes about 6º south of the star Pollux (Punarvasu) on 8th.
Mars passes about ½º south of Saturn on 11th.
Mercury passes 6º south of Pollux (Punarvasu) on 24th.
