Astronomy Centre
The Positional Astronomy Centre is the nodal
office of the Govt. of India for the public to supply information and data on
positional astronomy for scientific purposes and to supply same on national
calendar for civil and religious purposes. A Right to Information Cell is
functioning at this office as per RTI act, 2005.

The fee for the supply of information under
RTI is Rs. 10/- per request. The amount may be paid through DD or Cheque drawn
in favour of 'Director, Positional Astronomy Centre, Kolkata', payable at
Kolkata. Duplication charges are extra.
Astronomical data will be supplied to the
users in accordance with rules/ guidelines already in force. The users may
contact appropriate unit of this office to procure such data.
